New Experimental / WIP Recipe Overhaul Mode. This replaces many recipes with custom ones that are more thematic, balanced, or both! It is intended for experienced modded Minecraft players.
Enable it by typing /vconfig overhaul true and restarting the game.
This is just the start of a larger overhaul, and we are seeking feedback on the recipe changes, as well as suggestions for future changes.
Some existing recipe changes have been moved to this mode, such as the Ars Nouveau spell book changes and the Backpack recipes.
There are some similarities with "Expert Mode" packs, but the changes here aren't intended to be brutally hard or overly grindy in nature.
Recipe Changes (in all modes)
Deorum tools can now be reinforced with Netherite at a Smithing Table.
Grindstones can now polish several new materials (such as Rose Quartz).
Added many more crushing and milling recipes.
Reverted the Beacon recipe (to vanilla).
Capacitors, Circuits, and Copper Coils / Spools are now interchangeable in recipes.
Most recipes can now use alternative types of leather and wax (such as Ersatz Leather and Paraffin Wax).
Quartz Dust can now be made into Silicon.
Soul Dust and Soul Powder are now interchangeable in recipes.
Added a recipe for Antique Ink.
Added recipes to create Milk using nuts and water.
Some cooking recipes now accept alternate protein types.
All types of Cherries are now interchangeable in cooking recipes.
Added a recipe for the Dungeon Door.
Cogwheels can now be made using Immersive Engineering's Metal Press.
Botania's Orechid now works with stone from all dimensions, including The Aether, The End, and Ad Astra planets & moon.
Added recipes to cycle between several different vine types using Botania's Alchemy Catalyst.
More slabs can now be converted back into block form.
Merged / removed some redundant recipes.
Bug Fixes
The M key now works again to open the world map.
Flies no longer spawn on other planets.
Fixed recipes that use water also accepting other fluids.
Several blocks can no longer be picked up with CarryOn due to issues when placing them down again.
Fixed Neapolitan's recipe for cutting ice into ice cubes.
Other Changes
The Immersive Engineering Toolbox now considers Create Crafts & Additions items as wiring.
Soap can now remove dye from AE2 cables.
Spawn Eggs are now hidden from JEI.
Integrated Dynamics facades are now hidden from Create's Automatic Shapeless Crafting in JEI.
Heat Generators now work better in the Nether.
Create Crafts & Additions power-related blocks have had their capacity and throughput buffed.
Added some missing effect descriptions.
Added missing enchantment descriptions to Deeper and Darker.
Added support for finding mobs from other mods using Ars Nouveau's Magic Find.
Added many new JEI information panes to add in-game documentation for how to obtain or use several items.
Soul Fragments, Soul Dust, and Soul Powder can now be used with Clibano Combustion.
Several Twilight Forest bosses have additional thematic loot.
Updated Complementary Shaders to r5.1.1.
Disabled step-by-step tutorial.
